​Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing Sheffield-based business as they look to appoint an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee their transactional finance function on a full time and permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands on finance professional who enjoys managing the day-to-day finance operations while ensuring strong financial controls and accurate reporting across the business.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Accounts Manager will take ownership of the transactional finance processes and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the transactional finance function, ensuring efficient processing across all areas.

  • Maintaining and reconciling cashbooks, ensuring accurate daily recording of cash movements.

  • Posting journals to the nominal ledger and ensuring entries are accurate and timely.

  • Managing and reconciling control accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

  • Ensuring strong financial controls and compliance with internal procedures.

  • Supporting month-end processes and assisting with finance reporting where required.

  • Acting as a key point of contact within finance for transactional queries.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a similar Accounts Manager / Senior Finance role.

  • Strong experience managing cashbooks, control accounts and nominal ledger postings.

  • Excellent attention to detail and reconciliation skills.

  • The ability to manage workloads and ensure deadlines are met.

  • A proactive, organised and hands-on approach.
