Accounts Assistant

Job description

​Working as an Accounts Assistant, part a of a member of a small finance team in a financial services business based in Leeds you will support the Finance Manager and will assist in the smooth processing of both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions covering any other aspects of transactional finance as and when needed.

The main duties and responsibilities are to include:

  • Payment of purchase invoices.

  • Maintenance of purchase ledger.

  • Managing relationships with suppliers.

  • Issuing AR invoices to customers.

  • Maintenance of sales ledger.

  • Credit control in relation to customer payments.

  • Cash, debt & treasury management.

  • Maintenance of cash books and loan schedules.

  • Managing treasury deposit arrangements.

  • Processing of interest and capital loan repayments and other non-supplier payments where applicable.

  • Processing of company's house documents.

  • Management accounting.

  • Uploading the accounting data into the SUN accounting system.

  • Accruals & prepayments and other journals.

This role will suit individuals who have the following skills and experiences:

  • Strong Excel Skills (including pivot tables, lookups etc.)

  • Strong educational background – educated to degree level (2:1 and above).

  • Work experience in a finance function is advantageous but not essential.

  • Be a highly motivated and focused individual who has worked in a similar role in a fast paced environment.

  • Positive and open attitude to work, strong desire to learn, develop and progress within the role and further.
