Accounts Assistant

Job description

 I am working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business based in Huthwaite that is seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of its finance function, with a strong focus on compliance and adherence to internal procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a structured manufacturing environment. You will be part of a supportive finance team, playing a key role in ensuring financial processes and controls are followed consistently across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing high volumes of purchase and sales invoices in line with company policies

  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating and resolving discrepancies

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal controls

  • Supporting the implementation and consistent application of finance procedures and processes

  • Assisting with compliance checks to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements

  • Supporting internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and information

  • Maintaining and updating finance-related documentation, controls, and process records

  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve finance and compliance queries

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts-based role

  • demonstrable numerical skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Understanding of the importance of compliance, controls, and process adherence

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems

  • Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines

  • Communication and organisational skills

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential
