Accounts Assistant

I’m working on behalf of a highly successful and fast-growing IT company based in Barnsley, now expanding its finance team to support continued nationwide growth.

 

Over recent months, this business has seen exceptional success across the UK, securing major new contracts and strengthening its reputation nationwide. As part of this exciting period of expansion, they are now seeking a motivated Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and dynamic finance department.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking organisation where collaboration drives what they do. The Accounts Assistant will support the Finance Manager with the day-to-day running of the accounts function, ensuring smooth and efficient financial processes as the business continues to scale.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements

  • Supporting sales ledger management, including credit control and cash allocation

  • Completing bank reconciliations and managing petty cash

  • Liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to resolve queries

  • Providing administrative support to the wider finance function

 

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach

  • AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT (desirable but not essential)
