Working as part of a small finance team and reporting ultimately to the Finance Manager and Junior Accountant you will play a key role in all aspects of the finance function with a view to long term progression and development alongside your AAT studies.

The main duties of the role are to include:

*To oversee and control the purchase ledger function
*Investigate unallocated cash and ensure a clean purchase ledger
*Respond to purchase ledger supplier queries and investigate the problem working with the Finance Admin to identify solutions
*Liaise with suppliers and customers and be the main point of contact to resolve queries
*Manipulation of data in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)
*Undertake monthly balance sheet/bank reconciliations
*Prepare monthly management accounts in accordance with deadlines agreed
*To undertake daily cash allocation responsibility
*Undertake credit control and resolve customer queries, ensuring cash received in a timely and accurate manner
*Check and process staff expenses
*Agree payments schedules with the Management Accountant/Head of Finance

The ideal individual with have the following skills and experience:

*Previous fully rounded Accounts Assistant experience
*The role would suit candidates studying in the latter stages of AAT (level 3 / 4)
*Experience with SAGE line 50 or similar
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all level
*A highly-motivated individual with a can-do approach to work and the ability to get the job done in the required timescales and looking for long term progression
*Excellent team working skills with the ability to develop good positive working relations with the finance team
