Trainee FP&A Analyst

Sharp Consultancy is thrilled to partner with a well-established, fast-growing manufacturing company in Doncaster, seeking an ambitious individual in the early to mid-stages of their studies (ACCA or CIMA). This is a fantastic, hands-on role where you will receive exposure to a more commercial position in financial planning, working closely with the Head of FP&A based abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Fee Management: Take responsibility for reviewing and optimising pricing structures to ensure profitability and accuracy.

  • CRM & Reporting: Maintain CRM systems with actual financial results, ensuring real-time visibility into performance data.

  • Sales Forecasting: Assist in creating and managing accurate monthly sales forecasts, learning to analyse trends and their impact on financial planning.

  • Financial Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Provide weekly reports to internal teams and the international parent company, enhancing your communication and presentation skills.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and streamline financial processes, gaining valuable experience in operational efficiency.

  • Business Partnering: Work closely with Commercial and Customer Service teams, providing insightful financial support to help drive decisions.

  • Budgeting & Long-Term Financial Planning: Contribute to the development of the company’s budgets and financial forecasts

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Analyse financial data to uncover trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with departments across the business to collect data for financial analysis

  • Variance Analysis & Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, performing variance analysis and contributing to management reporting.

  • Business Intelligence Tools: Update and work with global BI tools, helping to shape the company’s financial outlook across international markets.

  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Be flexible and take on a variety of financial tasks, allowing you to develop a diverse and valuable skill set in FP&A.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA with a clear ambition to progress in finance.

  • Experience in FP&A is advantageous, but enthusiasm to learn is most important.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen interest in financial analysis and business partnering.
