Temp to Perm Finance Administrator

​I am currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join a well-established engineering business based in Barnsley. This is a varied role that sits at the heart of the business, supporting finance, operations, and administration while working closely with multiple departments.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on role in a busy SME environment, where no two days are the same and you can take real ownership of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices, reconciliations, and supplier payments.

  • Maintaining the sales ledger, raising invoices and monitoring incoming payments.

  • Processing payroll for a small team.

  • Assisting with stock control and stock reporting.

  • Producing regular financial and operational reports for management.

  • Providing general administrative support across the business.

  • Acting as a key point of contact for suppliers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring strong communication and smooth processes.

About You

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role.

  • Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes.

  • Experience processing payroll (for a small team) would be advantageous.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Confident communicator who enjoys liaising with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment.

  • Good IT skills including Excel and accounting systems.
