Working as part of a large finance team and reporting ultimately to the Finance Manager you will play a key part in the team in overseeing the smooth running of the Sales Ledger function including day to day management of 4 staff members

The main duties of the role are to include:

*Management of the Sales Ledger team, in accordance with company policies and procedures, and support with training as required. This includes completing annual appraisals for the team.
*Manage insurance company enquiries and allocation of receipts.
*Completion of the EU list, declaring to customs VAT numbers or the companies the business is working with.
*Manage the Debtor ledger in its entirety, consumer/business/insurance/schools accounts
*Maintain a 'clean' ledger including consumer accounts (includes monthly 'penny cleardown') - monthly KPI
*Allocate daily bank receipts to Business/School Accounts and Non Account Customers
*Ensure all accounts are allocated - monthly KPI
*Yearly appraisals to be carried out for the Sales Ledger Team and setting goals and objectives for the individual team members.
*Work to the KPI's required by the department (reporting monthly)
*Ensure that all the relevant balance sheet reconciliations are up to date and any queries are followed up with the Reconciliation's Administrator.
*Responsibility for the downloading and processing of the various payment merchandisers used by the business.
*Liaising with internal stakeholders - Sales, Customer Services and Payment Processing team.
*Resolving customer queries when escalated to the team for refunds - verifying claims are valid and approval's obtain prior to raising refunds.
*Assist the Management Accountant and Financial Controller with audit queries at year end

Ideally the successful individual will have the following skills and experience:

*Strong background in Sales Ledger and managing / supervising staff
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all level
*Ability to display/work on own initiative
*Motivated - working from home is very likely at the start
*Team player - maintain close working relationships with all other employees in the business to assist in the facilitation of projects
*Excellent team working skills with the ability to develop good positive working relations with the finance team
