We’re partnering with a growing business in York that’s looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger to join their finance team on a full-time temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who’s confident in Purchase Ledger, has a sharp eye for detail, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative finance function. Purchase Ledger - What you’ll be doing

  • Accurately processing a high volume of supplier invoices

  • Matching, batching, and coding invoices in line with internal procedures

  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies promptly

  • Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs

  • Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and ensuring data integrity

  • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting tasks

  • Liaising with internal teams and suppliers to resolve queries

  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required

 

Purchase Ledger - What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role

  • Confident using accounting software and Excel (intermediate level preferred)

  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to work

  • Able to manage your workload and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused attitude

  • Immediately available or available at short notice

 

Purchase Ledger - What’s on offer

  • Hourly rate equivalent to £25,000–£28,000 depending on experience

  • Full-time temporary contract
