Accounts Assistant

​Sharp Consultancy are currently supporting a large, successful UK-based group with a 3-month temporary opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant with a strong Purchase Ledger background. Whilst this is a temporary position for 3 months initially, it has the potential to extend or become permanent for the right person.

This role has arisen due to a period increasing invoiced volumes, given their phenomenal growth and continued expansion year-on-year. This business has a centralised finance team based in Barnsley, consisting of a stable leadership team and a collaborative finance function.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Processing invoices efficiently and accurately

  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes

  • Ensuring appropriate order and invoice approvals are obtained promptly

  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations

  • Handling supplier queries in a professional and timely manner

  • Assisting with month-end processes

  • Costing credit card receipts and processing staff expenses

  • You may also support the Sales Ledger team if required, depending on team structure and workloads.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant accounts/ledger experience

  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume invoice environment

  • Strong attention to detail and proactive communication skills

  • Proficient using different accounting software and Excel.
