The Accounts Assistant will manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process from PO to payments in timely accurate manner. Establishing good working controls and building relationships with the external clients & contacts.

They will assist the Finance Manager in dealing with queries from various external sources including local Authorities via telephone and management of the Finance inbox. Ensuring the timely upload of queries and returns to Local authorities via a variety of portals.

The main duties of the role are to include:

* Responsible for the timely and efficient posting of all purchase invoices
* Create BACS files for review
* Prepare monthly supplier statements and ensure all queries have been followed up in the appropriate time scale
* Raising of adhoc bank payments
* Posting of monthly petty cash spend overspends
* Ability to resolve supplier issues and escalate through the appropriate channels
* Work closely with procurement to provide relevant information and maintain supplier contacts
* Completing Local Authority payment schedules/returns for payment
* Dealing with client queries via telephone and email
* Taking customer payment via telephone
* Establishing good working relationships with our Care Homes and professional bodies
* Ensuring confidentiality in line with GDPR

The ideal individual with have the following skills and experience:

* Previous experience in a similar role
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Solid team working skills
* Ability to communicate appropriately, sensitively and maintain confidentiality
* Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experienced in Excel and Microsoft Office packages
* Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE
