Sharp Consultancy are excited to be working with a great Sheffield business on an exclusive basis. The continued growth of the business over the past 18 months has resulted in the Head of HR and Payroll needing to focus more time on the HR related duties. The business is now looking for an experienced payroll candidate to take on the day to day running of the payroll function.

Responsibilities;
*Supporting the preparation of the weekly/monthly payroll, ensuring that payroll is disbursed accurately within the cycle
*Supporting a small payroll team
*Calculation and payment of termination payments
*Payment and reconciliation of bonus and overtime payments
*Processing increases, calculation of back pays and payroll deductions
*Calculating annual leave entitlement
*Processing starters and leavers information
*Ensure prompt maintenance of staff records at all times including archiving and filing
*Producing payroll reports for the Accounts Department
*Resolving all pay queries and correction of errors
*Accurately inputting data on to the SAGE payroll system
*Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
*Answering the telephone and responding to general enquiries from internal and external sources
*Liaising with other team members and functions
*Manually calculating statutory payments
*RTI submissions
*Managing and processing pensions into different schemes
*Other reasonable ad hoc duties

Essential Skills;
*Previous working within a payroll administrative environment
*Good working knowledge of SAGE 50 Payroll
*Minimum B in GCSE Maths or equivalent
*Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload
*Good oral and written communication skills
*Competent user of the Microsoft office suite
*Great organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
*Be a team player as well as being able to work on your own

The candidate will be expected to show examples of where they have individually run payrolls from start to finish.

Salary;
£25,000-£30,000 depending on experience

Role Type;
Permanent - full time (9am-5pm Monday-Friday total 37.5hrs per week)
