​I’m recruiting on behalf of an extremely well-established engineering business based in Rotherham, with a long-standing history of delivering high-quality engineering solutions to clients across the UK. They are now looking to appoint a Payroll Officer to take full ownership of the payroll function. This is a sole payroll role, working closely with a small and close-knit finance team, offering both autonomy and support within a well-structured organisation.

The role will include:

  • End-to-end processing of payroll

  • Ensuring payroll is accurate and compliant with current legislation

  • Managing starters, leavers, and payroll changes

  • Handling payroll queries from employees

  • Liaising with HMRC and pension providers

  • Supporting the finance team with payroll reporting and related tasks

  • Previous experience in a payroll role, ideally running payroll end to end

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

  • Confident communication skills and a collaborative approach
