Payroll Clerk

Job description

​If you are a Payroll professional looking for a new part time position in and around the Huddersfield area this could be the perfect role for you.

This role manages the payroll for c300 clients, it offers a great work life balance of a 30 hour working week with fixed hours of 10am – 6pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of payroll & pensions software (Moneysoft)

  • Processing a high volume across monthly payrolls

  • Setting up new starters and processing leavers

  • Process RTI submissions

  • Holiday pay & SSP/SMP calculations

  • Handle statutory documents (P45s, P60s, P11Ds) and year-end tasks

  • Liaising with clients and HMRC on a daily basis

  • Stay updated on all payroll related legislation and ensure full compliance

  • Can resolve discrepancies with HMRC/client

Skills and experience:

  • Prior payroll experience is essential

  • Confident using Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Able to meet strict deadlines

  • Great communication skills, written & verbal and a team-player mindset

  • Can operate as a standalone payroll operative

  • Willing to assist with general office tasks
