Our client based on the outskirts of Leeds are looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant to work alongside the Payroll Manager to ensure the smooth running of the full Payroll function. There are flexible work options available (2 days in the office, 3 days home working)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

*All aspects of payroll, including processing statutory payments and starters and leavers
*Ensuring accurate and prompt payment of salaries
*NHS Pensions and Auto-Enrolment Pensions administration and processing
*Producing standard and ad hoc reports
*Handling payroll queries
*Manual calculations
*Administering Company Benefits
*Payroll reconciliations
*End of Year administration and processing
*HMRC Administration and payments ensuring all information is sent and processed according to HMRC deadlines
*Keeping up to date with current government legislation relating to all aspects of the payroll
*Meeting strict and changing deadlines
*Updating and maintaining records
*Remaining impartial and sympathetic to staff pay issues
*Providing confirmation of earnings to external organisations
*Administering DEO/AEO
*Providing management information each month end
*Reconciling month end, year to date submissions
*Work in conjunction with the HR team
*Updating and maintaining a variety of systems
*Any other duties to assist the Payroll Manager

The ideal candidate will:
*Have a strong background payroll in general
*Have strong verbal and written communication skills
*Good personal time management and organisational skills
*Have the confidence to communicate at all levels of the business
*Have intermediate Excel skills
*Have the ability to work under pressure to achieve Payroll deadlines
*Very high standard of confidentiality/Reliability
