Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a leading Sheffield Business, in recruiting a Group Accountant to join their dynamic and successful finance team.
You will provide the Group FC and broader finance team with reliable and timely consolidation reporting and detailed understanding whilst working closely with a variety of internal stakeholders.
This key role will be responsible for accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting for the Group and will include responsibility for the accounting of head office and actively support operating companies in all aspects of accounting and reporting. Furthermore, contributing to the on-going development and improvement of the reporting processes.
This opportunity would either suit a first-time mover from practice or a strong candidate from industry, and ideally you will have strong communication and presentation skills alongside strong technical accounting expertise and consolidation experience with good attention to detail.
Job spec:
* Monthly consolidation and preparation of Group results
* Half year results consolidation and interim accounts reporting
* Year end results consolidation and statutory financial statements including PLC consolidated accounts and trading subsidiaries (all IFRS)
* Consolidating the annual budget and preparing budget reporting packs
* Providing accounting support to the operating divisions
* Liaising with external auditors during the annual audit process
* Supporting the timely completion of tax returns and payments
* Reporting the cash position of the Group through accurate daily tracking and forecasting
* Ad hoc projects / analysis as required
Person spec:
Within this role you must be able to summarise and present complex information clearly, confidently, and concisely, and will have an excellent eye for detail. The successful individual will be able to deal with ambiguity and change and have strong communication and interpersonal skills alongside:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a good technical background
* Attention to detail and quality work
* Willingness to get things done, take on new projects and manage own workload
* Be articulate and able to present financial information clearly
* Be able to plan and prioritise multiple tasks to meet challenging deadlines
* Be confident, able to work independently and motivated to develop their abilities
