Financial Controller

Sharp Consultancy is proud to be working with a well-known regional brand within Chesterfield to appoint a Financial Controller on a permanent basis.

 

Reporting into the Managing Director, this role will encompass a team of 2 with 1 direct report. This role will step away from core finance processes and have a predominant focus on project work, cashflow forecasting and commercial analysis.

 

This role will be pivotal to further business growth and development, influencing executive level business decision making, as well as presenting accurate financial information to ensure all actions are financially and commercially in line with business objectives.

 

This role will suit someone who liaises with senior stakeholders, has a strong core finance and commercial background and can challenge business decisions to influence profitability.

 

Duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Oversee weekly and monthly reporting including board finance packs

  • Perform commercial analysis to support and influence board level decision making

  • Review of monthly expenditure, reporting against budget and reforecasting

  • Ownership of cashflow forecasting

  • Project accounting & profitability analysis

  • Ownership of budgeting and forecasting

  • Assist with the production of year-end accounts and audit process

  • Support and drive the continuous improvement of reporting processes

  • Line management of a Finance Assistant including appraisals and day-to-day support

What's on offer?

  • £70,000 - £75,000

  • Discretionary Bonus

  • 25 Days AL + 8 BH

  • 5% Employer pension contribution
