Sharp Consultancy have been retained by a market leading SME based in the Nottingham region as they look to add a new Finance Director as part of the next stage of growth within the business.
Based in an easily commutable region on the outskirts of Nottingham, close to both the M1 and major A roads the business will be a simple commute from Nottingham, Derby and Leicester whilst offering a hybrid flexible working approach with an office presence only needed for 2-3 days a week at busy periods.
The client is a highly profitable specialist producer of high-end systems and products, with a strong development influence throughout the sectors they operate and support with a strong international market presence for their industry leading products and services.
As part of their next stage of growth they are now looking to appoint a new Finance Director who will take full ownership for the finance leadership including P&L, budgets, balance sheet, CAPEX, cash, projects as well as MI development and reporting in particular at board level with clear direction and strategic leadership.
You will be reporting directly into the MD and work closely to map the future of the business along a clearly deliverable growth path. The ability to work closely with the business leaders and to influence accordingly is also essential.
Key duties will include:
-Number one in finance
-Working closely with the sales, operations and production leaders across the business
-Financial leadership across the business reporting into the MD
-Management of the finance function, including accountants, transactional finance staff and analysts
-Responsibility for the financial reporting and management accounting
-Full responsibility for the financial accounting process
-Stakeholder influencing, in particular on key product lines and margins with sales, marketing, R&D and operations all involved
-Financial systems and general process improvements
-Project management, in particular key long term WIP reporting and delivery of medium to long term analysis of pipeline
-Cashflow controls
-CAPEX control and management
-Regular forecasting
-Control of the Group P&L
-Budgeting
-Management, development and mentoring of the finance team
You must be a qualified accountant and ideally be experienced within an SME environment that has allowed hands on experience
Any experience of high growth / fast growth environments would be advantageous
This could also be your first FD appointment providing you can demonstrate the relevant experience within a FC/FM/HOF role whilst working for an FD or CFO.
