Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with an award winning and market leading business in Rotherham, in sourcing an ambitious and driven Costing Analyst to join their established Finance team.
This role has become available through expansion, as the company continue to invest in growing the finance team to provide a fantastic level of support to the business as they continue to grow.
As the Costing Analyst you'll have an extremely varied role, supporting the wider Finance team in producing financial information, providing accurate and timely reports to the business and value add commercial/costing analysis.
You will work with local and wider finance team to increase business performance and assist in controlling their costs.
This position will ideally suit a recent graduate or a driven AAT/ACCA/CIMA part qualified individual with funding and study support provided. The successful candidate will be able to gain a vast amount of experience across a number of different areas of finance over the course of your studies and to develop and progress through the team/business.
The role will include:
*Assist in preparation of month end accounts, including the preparation of stock provision calculation, stock movements analysis and workshop accounts
*Provide assistance in identifying and delivering cost reduction / margin enhancement projects to deliver measurable benefits.
*Assist in executing business improvement opportunities / cost efficiencies to maximise key business performance measures
*Assist in reviewing new product development proposals
*Carry out costing runs to update standard costs for new product's
*Provide key costing information to assist in the assessment of a products commercial viability
*Analyse margin information to provide insight into factors impacting company sales margin
*Analysis of variances to understand differences to standard costs
*Calculate KPI performance figures for the manufacturing workshops and assist in cost reduction activities
*Assist in implementing stock control measures
*Generate KPI figures for monitoring stock
Specification:
*Drive the importance of product costing across the business to assist managers in making key strategic decisions
*Review of current / new product costs
*Identify material requirements
*Preparation of cost calculations for new products to assist in the setting of commercial prices
*Invest time in understanding business process and areas for improvement
*Understand what makes up production overheads and report variance analysis
*Invest time to understand the production process and impacts on business performance
*Analyse and review costs
