Assistant Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Analysing financial data and providing insights to support decision-making.

  • Assisting with accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.

  • Supporting audit processes and ensuring compliance with financial controls.

  • Managing purchase ledger activities, including processing supplier invoices, statement reconciliations, and payment runs.

  • Supporting sales ledger processes, including raising invoices and maintaining accurate customer accounts.

  • Carrying out credit control duties, proactively chasing outstanding debt and building strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payments.

  • Bank reconciliations and cash allocation.

About You:

  • Part-qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) or actively studying (advantageous).

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or a fast-moving environment (advantageous).

  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

  • Proactive, organised, and eager to learn.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
