Accounts Assistant

Job description

​Our client, a prominent player in their sector, is located in the industrial hub of Bradford and is currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to support their dynamic finance team.

This is a varied role with responsibilities including:

  • Producing the weekly sales summary for the Finance Director.

  • Assembling the weekly order book for review.

  • Overseeing weekly payroll processing.

  • Preparing the weekly cash flow forecast.

  • Compiling and distributing the weekly management information pack.

  • Coding, entering, and scanning supplier invoices—both manually and via the stock system.

  • Processing and coding sales ledger invoices.

  • Running weekly and monthly payment batches.

  • Recording incoming payments to the bank.

  • Coding and reconciling credit card transactions.

  • Posting manual journal entries and handling internal recharges for period-end close.

  • Reconciling sales and purchase ledger statements.

  • Performing weekly bank reconciliations in multiple currencies.

  • Managing petty cash reconciliation.

  • Creating weekly stock reports for two entities for PNC (asset-based lending).

  • Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Assisting with audit preparation.

  • Reconciling ledgers at month-end and generating reports for the Financial Controller.

  • Building strong working relationships across departments and working closely with the Financial Controller on ad-hoc reporting.

  • Responding to supplier and customer queries via phone and email.

  • Daily use of Sage X3 and Excel.
