Accounts Assistant

Job description

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected engineering business based in Rotherham. With a history of over 50 years, this company has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-standing client relationships.

 

They are now looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to cover a 12-month maternity period. You will be working within a well-established finance team, assisting with all finance duties across the transactional team, and supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function.

 

This business is known for offering great flexibility and a supportive working environment, ensuring you are fully supported throughout the duration of the maternity cover.

 

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Purchase and sales ledger duties

  • Processing invoices and credit notes

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Accruals and Prepayments

  • Preparing journals

  • Credit control and statement reconciliations

  • Assisting with month-end processes

  • Handling supplier and internal queries

  • General transactional finance support as required

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • A proactive and flexible approach

  • Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

  • The ability to work well as part of a team
