Sharp Consultancy are pleased to be working in partnership with an independent, fast-growing SME based in Rotherham, with a vision for expansion and further growth as a result of new business acquisition in 2022. This business operate across 12 sites in the UK and employ over 200 employees and counting.

They are looking to bring back to the currently outsourced finance functions. Hence, they are looking for a driven and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their finance team function at their Rotherham Head Office location. This role will be reporting into the recently acquired Financial Controller, and Management Accountant.

The location is S65, so is easily commutable from various South Yorkshire and surrounding locations, via major transport links including the M1 and M18.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but not exclusive to:
* Processing purchase invoices, reconciling and matching delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders.
* Processing sales and cash receipts, reconciling amounts and investigating any decrepencies that my occur.
* Allocating purchase and sales payments to ensure accurate ledgers.
* Setting up new and maintaining existing supplier accounts.
* Preparing supplier payments by BACs, getting them ready for authorisation.
* Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
* Bank reconciliations
* Dealing with queries

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
* Currently studying AAT or similar accounting qualification / has a desire and ambition to begin relevant AAT or accountancy studies.
* Recent experience of working as part of a finance team.
* Good IT knowledge, especially of accountancy software (such as Excel, Xero/Lightyear)
* Recent bookkeeping experience
* Strong communication skills
* Excellent telephone manner
* The ability to work alone and as part of a team
* Highly organised and efficient
* Excellent time keeping
