Project Coordinator

​Sharp Consultancy are working with a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Rotherham to recruit a Project Coordinator.

This is a hands-on role supporting projects from start to finish. You will track project performance, ensure costs are accurately recorded, support invoicing, and work closely with teams across the business.

This role will play a key part in ensuring invoices and financial records are accurately managed from initiation through to project completion. Working closely with the senior leadership team across the business, you will take ownership of the projects and collaborate with Project Managers and the wider finance team to ensure applications and payment queries are handled efficiently and precisely.

You will be the point of contact for all projects, meaning the key requirements are strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience within a contractor, production or manufacturing background would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track projects from initiation through to completion.

  • Assist in the investigation of budget vs actual variances on projects.

  • Calculate and validate project accrued and deferred costs.

  • Develop and provide analysis and reports to internal stakeholders.

  • Assisting with project reporting.

  • Provide visibility over project profitability.

  • Preparing and submitting applications for payments and invoices.

  • Take ownership of credit control.

  • Act as a liaison point between key stakeholders within finance and project managers.

  • Assist with cash flow forecasting.

  • Investigate and resolve payment queries.

  • Monitoring aged debt, updating on outstanding balances and payment timelines.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and cost tracking.

About You

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Experience in a contracting, production or manufacturing environment (desirable).

  • Proactive and hands-on approach.

  • Good Excel skills.
