Our client is a non-profit making organisation that provides affordable and quality housing to low-income families and individuals. They are looking for a fixed asset accountant to join the finance team and help them to maintain their fixed asset register and comply with accounting standards.

As a fixed asset accountant, you will be responsible for:

- Recording and tracking fixed assets, such as buildings, equipment, vehicles, furniture, etc.
- Calculating depreciation and amortisation expenses and updating asset registers
- Performing periodic physical inventory counts and reconciling with accounting records
- Preparing fixed asset reports and schedules for internal and external audits
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis related to fixed assets
- Researching and implementing best practices and policies for fixed asset accounting

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience of fixed asset accounting in a housing organisation
- Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
