A highly successful financial services business based in West Yorkshire seeks the urgent help of an experienced Accountant to cover a 6-month contract role.

The objective of the role is to oversee the Purchase Ledger, FA income recognition monitoring, reconciliations and mortgage, and savings controls. This will be to ensure robust controls, policies, procedures and segregation of duties are in place to maintain the Financial Control framework to a high standard and in line with industry practices to minimise the risk of fraud or error.

Tasks will include:
*Responsible for the completion of the daily mortgage and savings controls to ensure true and fair accounts and prevent any fraudulent activity.
*Responsible for the monitoring of the aged debt position of Financial Advice income and completion of other key FA reconciliations.
*Oversight of the Purchase Ledger team, ensuring that invoices, employee expenses and statements are processed to allow timely reconciliation and payment of all transactions.
*Build strong relationships with those areas of the business who are heavy PO and expense users to understand where the Purchase Ledger team can add more value to support the business and identify any education requirements / changes to their processes and ways of working to reduce the query traffic within Purchase Ledger.
*To understand where errors are occurring in the end-to-end fee recognition process to eliminate in order to strengthen overall controls and reduce the amount of detection, investigation and rectification within Operations and Finance so that the controls are scalable for future volumes.
*Responsible for developing and embedding a maximum streamlined aged debt business-as-usual process for the Financial Advice area, ensuring that escalation pathways are followed, when necessary, to ensure it is scalable for future volumes.

Candidates might be formally qualified or qualified by experience and it would be highly advantageous to have previous financial services experience and knowledge.
