Assistant Management Accountant

Sharp Consultancy is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business with a £40 million turnover. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional to step into a hands-on Assistant Management Accountant role, supporting multiple companies within the group and helping drive business decision-making, while gaining full exposure to the management accounts process.

 

The offices have been newly renovated — think Grand Designs style! You’ll work closely with a supportive Finance Director who will mentor and develop you toward becoming a qualified accountant.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for one of the group’s companies.

  • Assist with trade finance, including payments, reconciliations, and audits.

  • Support weekly cashflow forecasting.

  • Help produce KPI reports and dashboards, including manufacturing data.

  • Contribute to directors’ reports.

  • Assist and maintain the fixed asset register.

  • Provide financial information to support decision-making.

  • Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • AAT-qualified or degree-educated, with the goal of commencing further studies or currently studying ACCA/CIMA.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.

  • Hands-on experience in financial reporting, cashflow, and budgeting is desirable.
