Accounts Assistant – Temporary

Job description

​We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting a busy finance team with a focus on purchase ledger and wider month-end processes. This role offers variety and the chance to get involved in both day-to-day transactional work and elements of management accounts.

What you’ll be doing

  • Processing purchase orders, invoices and payment runs

  • Managing supplier statements and resolving queries

  • Assisting with month-end duties, including accruals and reconciliations

  • Supporting the production of management accounts

  • Helping streamline processes and ensuring accuracy across the ledger

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in an accounts role, ideally with strong purchase ledger exposure

  • Comfortable working with PO systems and high volumes of invoices

  • Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work to deadlines and support the wider finance team at month-end

  • A proactive and adaptable team player
