Accounts Assistant

Job description

I am working on behalf of a growing manufacturing business based in Barnsley that is looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to become part of a close-knit finance team where development and progression are encouraged. This role has great variety and holds the chance to be involved in all transactional finance activity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support the finance team with a variety of day-to-day accounting duties, including:

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices

  • Reconciling bank statements

  • Chasing payments via email and phone

  • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting

  • Preparing and scheduling supplier payments

  • Supporting with payroll duties

  • Handling general finance-related administrative tasks

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an accounts or finance role

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills

  • High attention to detail and good organisational skills

  • AAT qualification or studying (preferred but not essential)
