Our client has developed award winning products over a sustained period of growth within several different sectors. The role will be based out of the head office in Sheffield with an international coverage of all the business subsidiaries and operating regions.

Job Purpose:
*To take responsibility for the Group's reporting and analysis of management information
*Lead the process for evaluating and approving new business opportunities
*Drive the effectiveness of the monthly Business Review Process
*Evaluation of major capital investment proposals
*Ensure that the Group's R&D activities are effectively controlled and reported
Management reporting
*Review of consolidated monthly, quarterly, and other periodic management accounts and forecasts
*Prepare monthly Board reporting package
*Recommend appropriate internal KPIs and help drive and track performance
*Drive the effectiveness of the monthly Business Reviews by ensuring accurate, relevant and consistent information is presented and agreed actions are captured and tracked through to completion
*Support the FD and Group Financial Controller in managing the annual budgeting process and oversee the preparation of the Board budget pack
*Provide insightful financial analysis to management, including risks and opportunities, variances to budget and forecast and other specific analysis
Supporting profitable sales growth
*Manage the process for evaluation and approval of new business opportunities
*Ensure appropriate assessments are completed and reviewed to understand commercial and contractual risks
*Ensure transparent reporting of sales funnel opportunities from initial prospect through to final project delivery
Investment appraisal
*Ensure effective processes are in place for the evaluation and approval of major spending proposals using suitable investment appraisal tools
*Support the review of capital budget proposals
R&D finance business partner
*Act as a finance business partner to the R&D leadership team to ensure appropriate planning, control and reporting of both spend and project delivery
*Support preparation of regular Board level governance reports for major R&D projects
*Support the budgeting process for R&D
Other responsibilities
*Line manager to Group Management Accountant
*Manage specific projects as appropriate
*Oversee the Group's expenses approval policy and optimise associated processes
*General support to the Finance Director as required
*General advice and support to the finance teams at divisional/business unit level
Key personal attributes:

*Ability to be flexible, with a team-based approach
*Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) accountant with strong technical skills essential
*Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

*Experience of business process improvement / automation
*Ability to drive insight from data to support key business decisions
