SHARP CONSULTANCY SEARCH FOR WEST YORKSHIRE’S YOUNG ACCOUNTANT OF THE YEAR
Nominations are now open for the Young Accountant of the Year 2016 competition as Leeds-based financial recruitment specialists Sharp Consultancy launches its annual celebration to highlight the next generation of accountancy talent in the Yorkshire region.
The competition was established in 2000 and is run in conjunction with West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants. It recognises the best of the region’s accountants who are either training to be qualified or have been qualified for up to two years.
Potential winners can be nominated by their colleagues, peers or senior managers and will have to satisfy a number of criteria including exam record, leadership and initiative and work and technical competence as well as demonstrating to the judges that they bring an extra element of star quality to their role.
Recent previous winners of the title have represented some of the region’s leading financial names including Grant Thornton, Ernst & Young, Baker Tilly and Deloitte. Last year, Lucy Mason from PwC triumphed over stiff competition to scoop the title.
Lee Sweeney, regional director said: “This is the sixteenth Young Accountant of the Year competition. With each year, the standard of entries surpasses previous applications demonstrating the depth of talent that we have within the financial and accountancy industry in West Yorkshire and the overall strength of the sector in our region as it continues to attract and develop high calibre individuals.”
He added: “Last year, selecting the overall winner was one of the toughest judging decisions that we have had to make as the quality of the entries was so exceptional; expectations are high for this year’s competition and we are looking forward to see the talent that comes through.”
The winner of the Young Accountant of the Year 2016 competition will win a luxury weekend for two to Palma with a number of runners up also receiving a prize on the night. Entries will be reviewed by a specially selected judging panel with the winners being announced at the LCASS Annual Dinner which will be held on 26th February 2016 at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
Entries must be received by 31st December 2015 and nominations forms can be downloaded here
