SHARP CONSULTANCY HELPS ROTHERHAM COLLEGE STUDENTS TAKE THE FIRST STEPS ON THE CAREER LADDER
Recruiters from the Sheffield office of Sharp Consultancy have continued their long standing relationship with Rotherham College by running a valuable career clinic to help students get their careers off to a flying start.
Consultants Nabarun Dasgupta and Marie Williams spent time at Rotherham College working with a number of students studying for their AAT Level 3 qualification to help them boost their chances of securing future employment through a range of workshops and careers advice sessions.
The students were able to benefit from careers advice including the best way to approach writing a CV, job application hints and tips and comprehensive interview advice to help them deliver a strong performance and secure the role. Nabarun and Marie also spent time discussing the current job market and helping the students to understand what they wanted to achieve in their careers to help them make the right decisions.
Nabarun said: “It was a pleasure to meet up and coming accountancy professionals who were keen to get personal advice about the interview process and how to develop their career moving forward. They were quick to take on board advice and implement it straight away into their job search – it’s always great to help nurture young professionals and be able to help them find their ideal role and career.”
Marie added: “It was great to meet with such enthusiastic individuals looking to start their career in finance who clearly had a passion to progress. It is always interesting to encounter those at the start of their professional life, and be able to help them in take their first steps to achieving their career aspirations.”
One of the students that participated in the career clinic was 17-year old Jordan Best who said: “The sessions with the consultants were very helpful; I was able to go through the interview process step by step and receive a lot of advice on how to build my CV.”
This is the third successive year that consultants from Sharp Consultancy have provided career clinics to the AAT students at Rotherham College. Programme manager Rachel Wilkinson added: “Our students really appreciate the support and guidance which the team from Sharp continue to offer and following the sessions feel much more confident about applying for jobs in the accounting field.”
The team from Sharp Consultancy is planning to run another career clinic at Rotherham College during the summer. To find out more about the Sharp Consultancy career clinics please call 0114 261 1700.
