Job description

Sharp Consultancy are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a growing finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional to support the smooth running of the purchase ledger function during a period of business growth.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time, while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
Matching, batching and coding invoices.
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
Preparing payment runs in line with payment schedules.
Managing supplier queries via telephone and email.
Maintaining purchase ledger records and ensuring data accuracy.
Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals and reporting.
Supporting the wider finance team with administrative and finance-related tasks as required.
Ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls.

To be considered for this role you will have:

Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role.
Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
