Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of delivering accurate and timely management accounts, providing meaningful financial analysis, and supporting the wider finance function. You will also play a significant role in mentoring junior team members and driving continuous improvements across reporting processes and controls.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of the preparation and delivery of monthly and annual management accounts, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met

  • Supporting the Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning activities

  • Reviewing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies

  • Producing detailed variance analysis, delivering insightful commentary on business performance and key financial trends

  • Preparing management information and board-level reporting packs to support senior leadership decision-making

  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team, assisting with their development and day-to-day responsibilities

  • Managing month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments

  • Ensuring financial controls, processes, and reporting standards are maintained to a high level

  • Business partnering with stakeholders across the organisation, providing financial insight and commercial support where required

  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting efficiencies across the finance function

  • Assisting with ad hoc analysis, projects, and strategic initiatives as required

This role offers excellent scope for professional development and progression, providing broad exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders. You will play a key role in driving financial performance while developing your leadership capabilities and commercial knowledge.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant, with previous experience operating in a Management Accountant, Senior Management Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role.

You will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members would be advantageous, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their management accounting expertise while gaining increased commercial exposure within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
