​A reputable and well-established organisation based in Harrogate are currently looking for an Purchase Ledger Clerk to join its finance team , this is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career within finance, on a 6 month contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices, credit notes, and related transactions accurately and efficiently.

  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations and reviewing direct debit payments to identify and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and assisting with month-end reporting processes.

  • Preparing weekly and monthly supplier payment runs while ensuring payments are made in line with agreed terms.

  • Communicating with suppliers and internal departments to investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a purchase ledger or accounts payable position.

  • Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage would be beneficial.

  • The ability to organise workloads effectively, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
