Job description

 Sharp Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a reputable and well-established organisation based in York on a 6-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous purchase ledger experience who is looking to further develop their skills within a supportive and fast-paced finance team. The position is available for an immediate start.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and checking high volumes of purchase invoices and purchase orders.
  • Accurately entering and maintaining expense information within the finance system.
  • Reconciling purchase ledger control accounts and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for approval and processing.
  • Handling supplier queries promptly and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Assisting with intercompany recharges and supporting cost allocation processes, including actuals, budgets, and forecasts.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working within a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
  • Confidence working with financial information; an accounting qualification is not required.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail organisational and communication skills.
