Purchase Ledger Clerk – 6 month fixed term contract

​Sharp Consultancy are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join a large finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract for a prestigious business based in Leeds City Centre.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely financial information.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function, supporting intercompany processes, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately code, process, and review purchase ledger invoices and purchase orders

  • Process employee expense claims in line with company policy

  • Input and maintain expense data within accounting systems

  • Reconcile key purchase ledger control accounts

  • Prepare payment runs for review, approval, and processing

  • Manage supplier queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently

  • Support the delivery of intercompany recharges and cost allocations (actuals, budget, and forecasts)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Comfortable working with finance data (no formal accounting qualification required)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

  • Salary up to £28,000 per annum dependant on experience
