Management Accountant

​This is a fantastic opportunity based in York for a fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) to join a well-established and forward-thinking finance function within a growing organisation undergoing continued expansion and operational development.

The role is ideally suited to a newly qualified Management Accountant looking for a varied and commercially focused position with strong exposure across the wider business.

In your role as Management Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operational processes, key financial drivers, and overall commercial performance. Core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts, including detailed commentary and variance analysis

  • Taking ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting processes

  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies or unusual variances

  • Preparing accruals, prepayments, and other month-end journal entries

  • Monitoring financial performance and delivering meaningful analysis to senior management teams

  • Supporting month-end and year-end reporting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines

  • Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting systems

  • Supporting internal and external audit processes through the preparation of relevant schedules and documentation

  • Producing ad hoc financial reporting and analysis, including identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements

  • Working closely with operational departments to provide financial support, insight, and performance analysis

As you become more established within the position, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, contribute towards strategic financial initiatives, and support wider business growth and development projects.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with previous experience working within a Management Accountant role. You will demonstrate strong analytical ability, effective business partnering skills, and a proactive, commercially minded approach, alongside a proven track record of improving financial processes and supporting operational and financial perform
