Interim Management Accountant

Job description

​A fast growing distribution business in Newcastle seeks an experienced Management Accountant to start immediately for an initial 6 month fixed term contract.

This is an important role to support the Finance Manager with the following taks:

  • Production of monthly management accounts

  • Importing sales and reconciling to ERP system

  • Manage overhead allocation and departmental reports

  • Posting accruals and prepayments

  • Support with P&L commentary and understanding variance to budget/forecast

  • Handle stock journals and associated duty and freight costs

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Maintain fixed asset register

  • Prepare VAT returns for UK and Ireland

  • Monthly reconciliations for Invoice Discounting facility

  • Assist on weekly cash-flow reporting

  • Post payroll journals

  • Oversee debtor ledger settlements and fees

Whilst this opportunity is to start straight away, for the right person, it could lead to a permanent appointment. To be considered you will likely be part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience. You must also be a clear communicator with very good Excel skills.

This is a great opportunity to join a particularly supportive and successful finance team but please only apply if you’re able to start quickly and can commute to the Newcastle area at least 3 times per week.
