Interim FP&A Lead

Job description

A highly successful Leeds-based retail business is seeking an experienced FP&A professional to join its team on a 12 month fixed-term contract, based in the city centre.

As FP&A Manager, you will play a pivotal role in analysing historical and current business performance, alongside delivering robust forecasting and planning. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide high quality insight to support informed, strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver high level presentations for the Board, senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Provide commercial analysis to support the evaluation of opportunities, drive strategic initiatives and identify key risks, trends and performance opportunities.

  • Own and deliver reporting packs and ad hoc analysis for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to senior leadership and external parties.

  • Lead and develop a robust budgeting and strategic planning process, including long term P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash-flow planning aligned to business strategy and funding requirements.

  • Develop and embed a strong KPI framework, advising leadership on the most effective metrics to drive step change improvements in performance.

  • Support the forecasting process by reviewing operational assumptions, investigating variances and constructively challenging inputs to ensure optimal decision making.

  • Support the annual budget process, rolling two year medium term plan and the 13 week rolling cash flow forecast.

  • Contribute to monthly management reporting, providing detailed analysis as required.

  • Deliver in depth sales, margin and profitability analysis by sales channel, business unit and geography.

  • Support stock analysis, including optimisation levels, slow moving stock, purchase order timing and open to buy management by location.

  • Work closely with the Finance Director on all aspects of corporate financial management.

  • Act as a trusted business partner to both finance and non finance functions, including Sales, Operations and HR.

  • Drive the development of Navision reporting and lead training for finance and non finance teams to ensure optimal system use.

About You

Ideally, you will have prior experience within the retail sector and exposure to Navision, although this is not essential. You will be commercially astute, analytically strong and confident engaging with senior stakeholders across the business.

If this opportunity aligns with your experience and you are able to commit to a 12 month fixed term contract, we would be delighted to hear from you.
