Role Description:There is an immediate opportunity for a Qualified ACA / CCA / CIMA or equivalent Accounting to join a Yorkshire based Higher Education provider on an interim basis for an initial 2-3 month contract. This role to be remote working from the outset due to the current situation. Reporting to the Financial controller The Reporting manger role takes responsibility for the management of the team that produces the Consolidated annual statements for the organisation and related businesses.
This will include:
Balance sheet management including reporting and forecasting ensuring effective balance sheet control
Production of monthly management information pack
Management accounts production for a number of subsidiary organisations
Preparation of consolidated annual accounts
Working with the auditors
Maintaining the integrity of the data and ledgers through employment of robust controls
Maintain and develop the reporting systems, proactively reviewing and improving procedures and processes.
Responsible for period end close
Develop and maintain strong communication and relationships across the business and with senior management team
Working closely with other departments and the wider Finance function
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
Strong technical accounting skills
Strong consolidations experience
Good understanding of risk and controls
Strong systems knowledge and experience especially in excel and ideally the ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data in a complex environment.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Experience of having worked in the Higher education sector would be advantageous but is not essential, as is experience of having worked with SAP and to SORP reporting standards.
