​Sharp Consultancy are pleased to be partnering with a global services organisation based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, in the search for a Financial Controller to be appointed on a permanent basis.

This appointment represents an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious and technically accomplished finance professional to assume full responsibility for a substantial and diverse business region. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, you will lead the end-to-end financial management of an international portfolio ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality reporting, while contributing to commercial decision-making.

As Financial Controller, you will report directly to an experienced Finance Director and play a key role in shaping the financial direction of the region. You will provide leadership and oversight to a small team of junior finance staff, ensuring the consistent delivery of high standards in control, accuracy, and professional development through effective day-to-day management and coaching. This is a hands-on position that combines technical expertise with strategic influence.

This opportunity offers genuine ownership, international exposure, and the scope to make a meaningful impact within a well-established, growth-oriented organisation. It will be ideally suited to qualified finance professionals (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) and is also open to individuals considering a first move from practice with a strong accounts background.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary between £60,000 - £65,000

  • 2 days WFH

  • 25 days AL + 8 BH

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all reporting requirements

  • Produce the consolidated management accounts pack, including detailed balance sheet reconciliations, KPI analysis, and insightful monthly commentary

  • Take full ownership of the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasting cycles

  • Act as a trusted business partner to sales, commercial, and international teams, providing clear financial insight and supporting informed decision making

  • Manage cash operations, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and banking oversight

  • Coordinate with local tax advisors to support corporate and partner tax submissions, ensuring compliance with local legislation

  • Review payroll outputs, VAT submissions, and other regulatory filings, maintaining adherence to all relevant statutory requirements

  • Build and refine budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to strengthen performance visibility and enable effective planning

  • Oversee the preparation and sign off of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis

  • Provide treasury oversight, focusing on liquidity management, working capital optimisation, and cash flow discipline

  • Collaborate closely with transactional finance teams to enhance processes and strengthen financial operations

  • Lead and support initiatives to improve accounting controls, streamline reporting processes, and drive continuous improvement across the wider finance team
