Financial Controller

Job description

​I’m currently working with a well-established housing organisation in West Yorkshire that is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to join its senior finance team.

This is a broad and high-profile role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting and controls while working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting

  • Overseeing the year-end process and statutory accounts

  • Managing balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and financial controls

  • Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process

  • Providing financial analysis and insight to senior leadership

  • Business partnering with operational and non-finance stakeholders

  • Supporting the preparation of board and committee reporting

  • Monitoring cash flow, working capital and financial performance

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements

  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and controls

  • Leading and developing a small finance team

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

  • Strong financial reporting and management accounting experience

  • Experience managing or developing a finance team

  • Excellent technical accounting and control knowledge

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
