Financial Accountant in Pontefract

Hugely successful specialised logistics business based in Pontefract currently requires a Financial Accountant to join their expanding UK division. Working in a newly created role, due to rapid company expansion, you will be involved in a variety of duties not normally associated with a role at this level. You will take a senior position within the team, producing monthly financial reports including profit and loss accounts as well as cash flow forecasts and budget report analysis. You will also assist with the audit procedures within the group, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and suggesting ways of improving processes, however this would be largely in an advisory capacity.

Reporting Directly into the Finance Controller, you will be responsible for:

*Leading the preparation of Statutory Accounts for all UK entities and liaison with auditors to ensure completion in line with deadlines
*Preparing reports, commentaries, financial statements, and budgets to present accounts to senior board level
*Assisting preparation of the group management account pack including analysis and commentary
*Mentoring and supporting junior finance staff that will report into you
*Liaising with senior board members and managerial staff, ensuring finance processes are running smoothly
*Ensuring compliance across the business balance sheet and general ledgers to month end and year end obligations
*Managing and developing financial systems and policies
*Leading major finance projects whilst liaising with both the Finance Controller and the Finance Director to ensure an appropriate and consistent approach to new and existing financial standards are met.
Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate the below experience:

*ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified with previous strong experiences within the finance function
*Keen to develop your career towards Financial Controller
*Ability to adapt and pick up projects on an ad hoc basis.
