A new opportunity is available for a Finance Lead to join a local education provider in Middlesbrough.

This role will report to the Executive Head and the Board of Directors. The successful applicant will join the Senior Leadership team for a period 9 months covering maternity leave.

Working as part of and leading a busy finance team duties will include:

*Providing strategic advice to the Board on all financial matters
*Preparing annual & periodic financial forecasts
*Develop strategies to enhance financial performance and maximise current financials
*Financial planning
*Monthly management accounts and commentary
*Preparation of budgets via working closely with all budget holders
*Providing accurate and timely information to enable effective budget control and decision making
*Leading a finance team and overseeing their development
*Maintaining financial systems and procedures
*Building effective working relationships both internally and externally
*Proactively managing and projects as required
*Lead on income generation via extended activities and external bids
*Being the financial point of contact for the board
*Review contracts and costs and implement a re-tendering process where necessary
*Be actively involved with any staffing structures
*Ensuring all appropriate financial policies in place in line with statutory requirements
*Ensure effective financial structures and controls to enable robust financial management
*Maintaining accounts in accordance the funding agreement and procedures
*Acting as the Chief Finance Officer ensure best practice is followed in terms of all financial transactions, compliance, cash handling and audit and risk management
*Preparing annual accounts
*Liaising with the Auditors
*Tax and treasury management



Ideally you will have:


*ACA/ACCA/CIPFA/CIMA or equivalent
*Experience of working in and educational setting and all regulatory procedures
*Experience of funding
*Experience of managing a Finance team

This role is varied and there will be exposure to new projects throughout the contract. This is an excellent opportunity for those experience qualified professionals who enjoy a challenge.
