​We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established retail business based in Rotherham for a Credit Controller to join their growing finance team.

The role will initially focus on all aspects of credit control and accounts receivable, ensuring customer accounts are managed effectively and outstanding debt is collected in a timely manner. However, there is genuine opportunity for the successful candidate to become involved in other areas of transactional finance over time, with clear scope for further growth and development within the finance team.

Ongoing support and mentoring will be provided by an experienced Financial Controller, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career.

Duties will include:

  • Managing customer accounts.

  • Chasing outstanding debt via phone and email.

  • Allocating incoming payments.

  • Resolving customer invoice queries.

  • Producing aged debt reports.

  • Building strong relationships with customers.

  • Supporting other areas of transactional finance when required.

  • Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties.

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience within a Credit Control or finance role

  • Excellent Excel skills

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Confident working in a fast-paced environment

  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Positive and proactive approach

  • Keen to learn and develop professionally
