As Credit Control Team Leader, you will lead a team of 4 staff in the day-to-day management of the Credit Control and Billing function. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and head up the Credit department to drive a consistent end to end billing and collection process in the UK and look to identify areas where processes and efficiencies can be made and simplified.

Duties will include:
*Lead a team of staff and ensure they are aware and carry out their responsibilities effectively and can develop within their roles
*Support the Finance Manager in ensuring service delivery of the agreed tasks within the agreed SLA for the Billing & Credit Control process
*Ensure that invoicing to customers takes place on a timely, accurate and complete basis
*Drive a performance improvement focus across the team using key performance metrics to measure progress
*Completion of Monthly AR KPI metrics
*Ensure the team deliver accurate and on time vendor master maintenance within two working days for all requests
*Ensuring credit checks are carried out on any new organisations in line with UK Bus credit policy and that existing accounts are monitored against agreed credit levels
*Input to the month end close process and ensure that the trade debtor balances are accurately stated
*Help to drive a more standardised and simplified billing model within the business and where there are persistent issues that hinder cash flow, highlight these to management
*Ensure cash is collected within the agreed credit terms by ensuring set procedures are established as to which customers are chased and when
*Highlight areas of financial risk within the trade debtor balance to management on a timely basis
*Focus on areas where the billing and credit control process can be standardised and simplified and work to the ethos of 'right first time'
*Ensure that the monthly reconciliation process for trade debtors is completed by the end of the 2nd working day of the month including calculation of bad debt provision, intercompany balances and AR reporting packs
*Ensure the billing and credit control process is effectively documented and that this documentation is kept up to date
*Assisting with year-end audit

The ideal individual will display the following attributes
*Team management experience in a Credit Control role
*Significant experience of Credit Control in a similar role
*Proactive, change oriented, driven, organised and able to communicate effectively across the business
*Ability to identify areas to improve processes and follow these successfully through to completion
*Accurate and timely data processing with the ability to work to tight deadlines
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
*Effective written and verbal communication
*Good Microsoft Office skills specifically Outlook, Excel (intermediate) and Word (basic)
*Large company experience preferred
*Oracle experience would be advantageous
*Work well as part of a team and on own initiative
