Boasting a robust international footprint, our client continues to invest heavily in state-of-the-art, technologically advanced manufacturing facilities both in the UK and overseas. With a clear focus on sustainability, our client produce high-purpose goods within a truly modern operational environment.

This pivotal vacancy will create a rare and structured pathway for the successful candidate to transition into a Financial Controller role. Taking full operational ownership of the Doncaster site, you will govern the standard costing framework, drive site-wide financial accountability and lead comprehensive profitability reviews to maximize margin performance.

This position represents an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, qualified accountant with a strong background in manufacturing finance. To excel, you must demonstrate sophisticated experience in costing, inventory valuation and strategic business partnering, combined with the leadership potential required to step into a Controller position in the near future.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary between £65,000 - £70,000

  • Discretionary Bonus

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the standard costing framework across all material, labour and overhead components

  • Devise and embed sophisticated variance tracking models to analyse usage, labour, and overhead deviations enforcing financial accountability across operational teams

  • Lead the annual manufacturing budget and rolling forecast processes, aligning factory capacity and site expenses with business growth targets

  • Maintain overall accountability for the month-end close, financial reporting and balance sheet integrity for the Doncaster manufacturing operations

  • Direct monthly valuation strategies, engineer robust provisions for slow-moving/obsolete stock (SLOB), and oversee the annual physical inventory audit

  • Lead product, customer and site profitability reviews to eradicate margin leakage and influence strategic pricing decisions

  • Evaluate high-value capital expenditure (CAPEX) business cases using advanced financial metrics, taking ultimate accountability for post-implementation benefit tracking

  • Deliver high-impact, strategic financial insights to Operation Directors and Site Managers to drive structural efficiency and cost reduction on the factory floor
