Assistant Management Accountant

​This is an excellent opportunity within the Retail sector for a part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), or someone looking to begin their studies, to join a finance team during an exciting phase of growth.

In your role as Assistant Management Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and gain a comprehensive understanding of the business across all areas. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

  • Supporting the production of budgets and forecasts.

  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.

  • Assisting with accruals and prepayments.

  • Analysing financial performance and providing commentary on variances.

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity.

  • Assisting with audit processes and providing required documentation.

  • Collaborating with other departments to gather financial information.

  • Supporting ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

As you grow within the position, there is a clear pathway to progress internally and become a fully qualified Management Accountant.

The ideal candidate will either be currently studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification. Previous experience in Management Accounts, or in roles such as Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant, is desirable, along with a strong motivation to further develop your accounting skills.
