Assistant Management Accountant

Job description

​This is an excellent opportunity within the Manufacturing sector for a CIMA/ACCA/ACA Part-Qualified Assistant Management Accountant/Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing finance team.

As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a key role in supporting the finance function by providing accurate financial information, assisting with reporting processes, and supporting commercial decision-making across the business. Main responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts within set deadlines.

  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities alongside the Financial Controller.

  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any variances identified.

  • Producing variance analysis and providing commentary on operational and financial performance.

  • Preparing financial reports and supporting information for senior management meetings.

  • Supporting stock accounting and cost analysis within the manufacturing environment.

  • Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company procedures and controls.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting.

  • Providing ad hoc support to the wider finance team as required.

Ideally, you will either be studying towards or looking to begin CIMA/ACCA, with previous experience within Management Accounts, Financial Accounts, Assistant Accountant, or Finance Assistant roles, and be looking to further develop your accounting and commercial finance skills.
